Keeping strong on not buying any more fabric until I get some piles down significantly, I joined a BOM - Sew Sweet Simplicity by Jacquelynne Steves.
The blocks are so very versatile and with just a few changes in fabric choices can give so many different looks. I mixed and played for a couple of days before I settled in on these. A white cotton/linen blend with embroidery, some pink, white cotton, some green and the flowered is from a collection - Rosie's Love Letters by Stof Fabrics. I am going to embroider a firefly or two in the center piece but I want to get a few more blocks made first. The BOM offers a 4 or 6 block quilt but I am leaning towards a bigger quilt and want to do nine blocks. That'll use up some fabric..heh? Seriously....Sew Sweet it will be and the blocks are in simplistic form with great direction so how can I stop making these?
I completely enjoyed doing this block and I am looking forward to the others. Of course, three blocks get chosen to be duplicates and I'm not sure, just yet which ones they'll be. I really liked doing this one and may make another because it looks fantastic as a pillow too.....I already went there... So now I just need to gather more fabric mixes and get the next block and away I go...fun!
This will be a great project for the Winter months and it should land on my bed.... say around Spring....completely done.
i love your fabric choice for this block
