Hi, my name is Susie & I love to create!
Allow messy, surround yourself with the whole process!
Feel that idea come to life! Yes, That's how I do it!
At the age of nine, I was making doll clothes & a big part of that was hand sewing. Cutting up our old clothes or getting scraps of fabric from Mom's sewing became new clothes for our Barbies. Our dolls had the best decorated apartments because pillow making was so much fun & I imagine easy enough for us to master. Mom had a treadle Singer & I did sneak on there a couple of times & learned later just how personal a machine can be. As the years went by, I picked up sewing from time to time, making clothes & things for the home.
To fill my constant need of creating, I explored other mediums. Learning techniques of which some spurred a career in Graphic Arts. Life really is full circle. All of the side roads I took through the years came together as one. Years spent in the digital world helped me to conquer pattern design, writing & illustration. To this day, I still enjoy many mediums but fabric and sewing has always remained, waiting for my return.
I enjoy designing patterns and have made several for embroidery. I take the love of drawing, writing & digital knowledge to create each one. Sewing patterns & others are soon to follow because I just love the process. I share here...my designs, patterns, projects & what's going on, in my Studio. I love fabrics of all kinds and share my finds of patterns and ideas I use with them. I hope you enjoy my blog & that it inspires you to make something today.
Whether it be drawing in sketchbooks or digital drawing, you will find me dreaming up new things all the time. I surround myself with ideas & some are from many moons ago. I get out old sketchbooks and go thru them regularly. It sparks a new idea almost everytime. Then there are the most wierd things I stumble on. Wow, what was i thinking? lol.
It's all a fun process to see, where my art interests were & how they have evolved. But one thing is for sure, It makes for a fun, interesting day.
Once I have been inspired by an idea....I set out to execute it.
All the materials & tools are at hand & in plain sight. Ready, Set, Go! Create!
My space is in my home, upstairs, divided into 2 rooms.
One is Sewing, the other is Office. In the Office, all digital work & real life work and other non-fabric mediums are found.

A super nice space to create in until my heart's content.
I have the greatest husband who knows I need my space & to get it all out and just have fun. Best part...because it is upstairs, No One needs to go up there, so it can stay messy.

I am very fortunate & grateful to have this space, it took a long time to get here. With a lot of work and pushing thru...I finally got a nice studio...yippee!
